No federal money for Louisiana

"A Troubling Bayou Tradition", US News and World Report 2005-10-10:

...Louisiana stands to gain billions in federal dollars for reconstruction and relief after the twin hits by Katrina and Rita. But with the cash comes attendant worries about bloated contracts, kickbacks, and fraud. And for good reason. Perhaps no state has a greater track record of political hucksters and hijinks.

The state of Louisiana has only itself to blame for failing to protect its cities from natural disasters. Absolutely no federal money, i.e. my taxes, should go toward rebuilding any of Louisiana.

The corrupt want to siphon off money? Let them take it from their own neighbors. Don't steal from me.
