Note to Amazon.com: I am not your customer. Stop sending me email.

I told you several years ago to remove all vestiges of my personal information from your system, in response to your so-called "privacy" policy whereby you declared that Amazon.com, not I, owned all my data.

Imagine my surprise and affront when I received an email today noting a book that I might be interested in.

In case you are confused, I am not interested in ever making any purchase of any type of good or service through Amazon.com ever again. It is not only safe to say, but prudent as well, that sending me emails is a bad idea.

Your company should not have my email address. It does. Delete it. For real, this time.

Do you know what is even worse? I cannot opt out of future emails. That nifty link you sent only works if I have an account and a password. I no longer have an account, I no longer have a password. I am no longer an Amazon.com customer. I have not been an Amazon.com customer for years.

Delete. My. Information. From. Your. System.

Aggravatedly,

Andrew Ittner
