Be careful what you wish for, OSS edition

I recently asked PyAlbum's maintainer if I could get involved with the project, fix a few bugs and add a few features.

He appointed me "Project Manager" and gave me full rights to the project.

A few days later I asked atomixlib's author if I could create a fork of the module that used ElementTree. He said "yes!"

Luckily, atomixlib-et was much less work that I thought. Never underestimate the power of writing to someone's API and using their test suite.

So this is how developers get sucked into writing open source... ;-)
