Stupid request of the day
S, the development manager, walks over to me.
The following has been patched together from S' broken English.
"I just assigned all the bugs to you, since C is working on the build. If there's a bug that she would be better at, assign it to her.
So, how long do you think it will take you to fix these bugs?"
I am not kidding you. He said it with a straight face. I haven't even looked at the bugs, and I'm waist-deep dealing with a nasty one, nasty not because of its virulence but because its a logical extension of the incredibly convoluted, messed-up undocumented codebase.
My well-advised silent retort: how long will it take you to learn how real developers work?
