Intuit's watching me (and probably you, too)

How scary is it when the company that owns your personal finance application knows your new physical address - when you never gave it to them?

Received a notice from Intuit about discontinuing online services for Quicken. And they'll give me a good deal if I upgrade to the latest version (for only $39.99!). But I never told them my new address - or even my previous address.

And one wonders why people feel safer with open-source software. OSS isn't Big Brother, can't screw you for more fees, or "sunset" the app. Intuit's famous for the last two - as of today, they are #4 on on The Gripelog Hall of Shame.
