Flipping burgers in the future
Techdirt's "McDonald's New High-Tech Burger Flipper", about McDonald's creating not only an ordering kiosk, but robotic hamburger flippers, reminds me of a Stainless Steel Rat story.
'Slippery Jim' diGriz is hiding out in a completely automated burger fast-food drive-through, where the burgers are prepared and served so quickly that they finish cooking on the way down.
Harry Harrison wrote it much better than I can recall. I highly recommend the series.
