Lies, damn lies, and Deloitte & Touche reports

In TechDirt's "Difficulty Understanding The Impact Of Downloading Films" article, speaking of Deloitte & Touche's "report":

They say that 400,000 to 600,000 movie files are downloaded every day "costing the industry up to $3.5 billion a year". Then, they say that all this downloading "has yet to make an impact on the film companies' bottom line." Hmm. It's costing $3.5 billion a year, but it isn't impacting their bottom line?

And in a nice little zinger, while searching for D&T's web site address, Google showed 11-hour-old news from Financial Times: "High Court finds Deloitte & Touche negligent in its audit of Barings".

400,000 here, a billion there - pretty much it adds up to... complete incompetence?
