Stock options in Singapore

I was listening to a webcast of "Essentials of Single Stock Futures" (held on 1 March 2003, put on by the Singapore Stock Exchange), and heard something interesting.

The leader, Mr Chew Sutat, Associate Director, OCBC Securities claimed several times that single stock futures had just started gaining momentum in terms of volume in the US last year. He cited One Chicago as an example of where SSFs are traded in the US.

That's funny. I thought SSFs were simply stock options, options on stocks; you know, those things that have been traded for at least a decade!

Now I'm really confused. Time to go to the experts at the MasterMindForum.
